Welcome to the University of Patras campus! The English Medical Program (EMP) provides international students with state-of-the-art academic infrastructure, comprehensive digital services, and dedicated support centers to ensure a seamless university experience.
EMP Administrative Office & Medical Facilities
The English Medical Program utilizes the extensive, fully equipped educational and clinical infrastructure of the University of Patras Department of Medicine, with specific lecture halls and simulation labs designated exclusively for EMP instruction.
- The EMP Secretariat: Located in a modern, dedicated space within the Clinical Functions Building (Ground Floor). The administrative staff offers comprehensive guidance, registration assistance, and student support entirely in English.
Academic ID & Student Travel Pass
All enrolled international and exchange students are legally required to obtain a personal Academic ID Card, which automatically incorporates the official Student Travel Pass (Pass), granting significant discounts on public transport throughout Greece.
- Regulations & Validity: In accordance with Article 287 of Law 4957/2022 and Article 60 of the University’s Internal Regulations (Gov. Gazette 7494/B/31.12.2024), the card is strictly personal and remains valid for the official duration of your student status.
- Delivery: The ID card is printed and delivered completely free of charge to a local pick-up location (usually a designated courier branch in Patras) selected by the student during the electronic application process.
- Optional Social & Health Services: In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, students may optionally choose to encode specific allergy information or organ donor status onto their card. This data is entirely confidential and is automatically purged from the central server once printed.
- Integration: Once you receive your physical card, you can easily integrate your digital Academic ID into the official Gov.gr Wallet mobile application.
- Technical Infrastructure: This service is managed by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, with technical support from the National Research and Technology Network (GRNET • minedu.gov.gr).
