Internal Evaluation Committee

By decision of its General Assembly, every Department at the University of Patras establishes an Internal Evaluation Committee (IEC). The IEC is responsible for conducting the Department’s evaluation and gathering all the necessary data to compile and submit the Annual Internal Report, as well as the Department’s Internal Evaluation Report, to the University’s Quality Assurance Unit (QAU).

The IEC of the Department of Medicine consists of seven members, who are appointed at regular intervals upon the recommendation of the Department Head and the approval of the Department’s General Assembly.

At the end of each academic year, the IEC drafts the Annual Internal Report, which outlines and documents the overall work performed by the Department. This continuous annual process serves to gather the data and information required to compile the comprehensive Departmental Internal Evaluation Report (IER) every four years. The IER is based on a quality analysis and comparative evaluation of all metrics collected over the four-year period.

More specifically, in the Department of Medicine, students evaluate all theoretical, laboratory, and clinical courses every academic semester. This data is collected under the responsibility of the Department’s IEC and submitted for processing to the Directorate of Education and Research. The evaluation results are subsequently uploaded to the Quality Assurance Information System website (https://ps.modip.upatras.gr/).
